16 / 07 / 2024

Summer is finally here, and what better way to cool down than with iced coffee? Discover how to make a great iced coffee easily at home with this complete guide!

Ingredients and Necessary Equipment
To prepare a cold coffee beverage, you'll need:

High-quality coffee beans
Grinder (optional)
Cold water
Ice
Pitcher or bottle
Procedure
Grinding the Coffee
If you have whole coffee beans, use a coarse grind, as this will help achieve a better extraction during the infusion process.

Making the Iced Coffee
Add the ground coffee to the pitcher or bottle. Use a ratio of 1:8, meaning one part coffee for every eight parts cold water.

Slow Extraction
Stir the coffee and water well, then cover the pitcher and let it rest in the fridge for 8-12 hours. This long extraction time is necessary because cold water has a lower solvent power than hot water.

Filtering
After the extraction time, filter the coffee using a coffee filter or fine cheesecloth, removing any leftover coffee grounds.

Storage and Consumption
Store the cold-brewed coffee in the fridge and consume it within 2-3 days for optimal freshness. You can serve it with ice and, if preferred, add milk, sugar, or syrups to personalize the taste.

The Taste of Iced Coffee
Iced coffee requires a longer preparation time, but the result is a sweet and smooth coffee, perfect for hot summer days. Try it and enjoy a refreshing and delicious beverage made by you!
